Our region is located within an hour from some of the best colleges and universities in the state. 

In 2013 Corning Community College (CCC) opened a new three-story residence on campus.  In 2015 they completed the renovation of the Arthur A. Houghton, Jr. Library. See for yourself here!


In July of  2014, Cuthrie Corning Hospital opened its new $150 million dollar, 270,000 square feet healthcare facility. The new hospital site is just outside the city limits on 67 acres just off I-86. See More Here.  

The old hospital site, 8.5 acres in the heart of the City of Corning, will be razed and redeveloped.  

Technology and Telecommunications

The Southern Tier Network (STN) will bring technology to the region at speeds and prices that will make our region competitive on a global scale. Learn more

Energy & Natural Gas

Many of our surrounding counties are well positioned for wind power, including Steuben County with the recent additions of wind power in Cohocton, Hornell and Prattsburg.


Considered one of New York State's largest tourism attractions the Corning Museum of Glass (CMoG) is currently expanding their facility creating more tourism opportunities and enhanced experience for future visitors. Learn More

Watkins Glen International, considered the birthplace for American sports car racing, has been continuing to invest in their 50+ year old facility. In the past 10 years they have invested over $33 million in capital projects to enhance the fan experience and will continue to spend another $10 million over the next year.
